Is there a soul on this earth who is completely satisfied with his wireless service provider? Given the large number of complaints that are coming up against wireless service providers like Verizon or AT & T or any other service provider for that matter,   I don’t think there are many who’ll disagree with me. Let’s see some reasons why we are dissatisfied with our cellphone service providers? Ultimately is it our expectations or is it their faulty performance that is leaving us discontented?

Expensive Text Messaging Services

If you think verbal conversations are the only contributors to your bills, you are grossly mistaken. According to a Consumerist study, text messaging ups your bills by 7,314 % which is big enough to burn a hole in your pocket. The lesson learnt from here is – text messaging service is a seemingly harmless financially lethal weapon which you should never get addicted to.

Strict Penalties and High Security Deposits

These days, cellphone companies have found a new way to extract money from you. If you have a bad credit report wireless phone service providersyou’ve got pay a huge amount to the tune of $800 as security deposit. Not only that, if you delay payment even by a day, they will not refund your deposit. Now isn’t this a punishment to an already battered soul who has a bad credit score because of the financially bad times? Without these penalties these wireless providers don’t lose a bit. Then why are they imposing such harsh rules on financially vulnerable people who are nursing their recession inflicted wounds?

Sneakily Offering Paid Features under the Garb of Standard Features

When you register for a package of services from your wireless provider, the retail outlet from which you buy your services package or cellphone might try to convince you into taking optional paid features under the guise of standard mandatory services. So, patiently verify each and every service you opt for. Especially, be careful with services such as internet-work calling, text messaging, and happy hour talk-time charges.

Binding the Phone Device to Specific Providers

What can be more frustrating than to find that you like a particular handset but cannot purchase it because it is bound to offer services only from one particular service provider with a bad consumer satisfaction record? For that matter, even if you buy a handset today, why should you be restricted to use it only under one provider throughout its life? What if you are dissatisfied? But this is the way the cellphone industry is working these days. Of course, now the iPhone is being considered for opening up to more wireless service providers, such as Verizon.

The other reasons which contribute to high customer dissatisfaction are dishonest advertising and customer promises, billing for user-unauthorized services, big fee for disconnection, having to compromise with the previous owner’s identity while making calls, unsolicited upgrades and bad signal strength.

Just watch out for these offending factors with your service provider and you’ll be saving a lot of your precious money and avoidable harassment.
