United Way takes Credit Counseling beyond Central New York
Consumer Credit | January 24, 2011 at 12:05 amRecent news on credit counseling in America will bring smiles on million faces. The United Way has decided to team up with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of New York and offer counseling services to people who are suffering from credit, debt and budgeting issues.
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of New York or CCCS is non-profit organization that offers financial counseling and related assistance to families and individuals all over central New York. The counselors of this non-profit agency are certified to help individuals with debt repayment and their service is free of cost to people of any income level.
So far only the clients of CCCS i.e., people staying in central New York use to avail their consumer credit counseling services. But with the advent of this collaboration with United Way credit counseling services can now reach for the residents of counties beyond central New York. Besides taking the services of CCCS in the neighboring counties, United Way is also helping families to manage their budget before they reach a critical level. This effort is worth appreciation as many Americans are falling prey to enormous debts simply due to lack of guidance.
United Way organizes its annual program on tax returns named United Way’s CA$H program. Here counselors provide free information to individuals on tax preparation. This program had been a grand success last year as the volunteers of this program completed approximately 3700 tax returns.
Currently the information of CCCS is available only over phone to neighboring counties. But now this information will be available in United Way’s website, facebook, twitter pages and in the press releases. This is surely going to act as a boon to all the residents of New York.
