Why Should Recession Make Your Wedding a Seasonal Affair?
Marriages are made in heaven. But sadly enough we don’t live in heaven after that. We come to this earth where money rules and we’ve got to plan our weddings once more according to our financial capabilities. No more is it like in God’s land where marriage is a matter of two compatible souls. It’s more a matter of compatible wallets today! Apart from gifting your partner there are a lot of expenses involved in the celebrations! Well we don’t mind that actually because it’s a once in a lifetime, oops sorry…a supposed-to-be once in a lifetime occasion (these days rising divorce rates have made marriage a multiple times affair!)! But when you’ve suffered the recession, do you think you have enough money to host a gala event for the occasion? If you think you don’t, no need to  [...]

Health Insurance Fines Are A Punishment To The Poor Man
According to an Associated Press release if Democrat , Sen. Max Baucus, Montana were to have his way, according to a plan that made health care insurance mandatory for all Americans you might have to cough up to $ 3,800 as fines for not taking the health insurance. Ridiculous isn’t it? But this seems to be an outcome of the Baucus’ efforts to make premiums stable and affordable. The President is not party to this. According to him “Punishing families who can’t afford health care to begin with just doesn’t make sense.” Earlier he had proposed a compulsory health insurance only for children. But the Baucus proposal seems to be applicable to all Americans regardless of their ages. Individuals would be charged $750 annually and families would be charged $1500 in the  [...]

What Is Recovery With Unemployment High?
You might have heard in recent times about the fading recession and the recovering economy but is there reason no for us to rejoice when unemployment is so high? According to Labor Department reports August 2009 saw an unbelievable percentage of 9.7 % in unemployment which his the highest since the last 26 years! With such a large mass jobless can we think that we are in anyway in the proximity of economic progress? Salaries might have increased for the already employed and people’s spending powers might have increased in the past few days which might make us think that the economy has improved. But when so many people are depressed because of job losses we cannot think that any kind of major economic progress has been made. The recession has hit the psyche of the common American negatively.  [...]

What You Should Do In The Case Of an Identity Theft
Identity thefts seem to be a common thing these days and even the savviest amongst us don’t seem to be immune to this menace. If this could happen to chairman of Federal Reserve Ben Bernanke and to personal finance expert and coach Harraine Freeman, this can happen to anybody. In both cases purses that carried the financial credentials were stolen from their cars. Bernanke’s wife Anna’s purse that carried his credit cards, social security card, checkbook, and IDs was stolen. On similar lines Freeman’s purse that contained her health insurance card, driver’s license, check book, car registration and house keys was stolen. In both cases bank transactions were done by the thieves and money was withdrawn from their accounts. Upon this rapidly growing crime, Bernanke says, “Identity  [...]

Obama’s Saving For Retirement Goodies Look Good!
Saving for retirement seems to have been a hassle for many of us. Even though I wanted to save up, I could not because of the bad economy and survival issues in the present times was the priority. But now the Obama retirement savings schemes seem to have made it easy for us to save up something for that period when we’ll not be earning anymore. According to the Bloomberg report , the President on  radio coverage says that the savings of the nation is “essentially zero”. He says, “We cannot continue on this course. And we certainly cannot go back to an economy based on inflated profits and maxed-out credit cards.” Its rather alarming to know that 78 million Americans that constitutes half the work force don’t plan for retirement! According to treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner,  [...]
